The mission of the Community Advisory Committee is to provide the AECDC Board and staff with information, insight, and suggestions for addressing social issues facing the Middlesex County community.  The primary population is the “working poor,” those whose incomes put them just beyond eligibility for most free or subsidized services.

The Community Advisory Committee meets twice a year to give the AECDC Board and staff advice on what issues to pursue, and how to do so. The Advisory Committee does not have the responsibility of deciding upon or acting to carry out goals that are set by the AECDC Board and staff.

During the year Community Advisory Committee members may be called upon individually for advice or support, and their suggestions and input are welcome, but their main commitment is to attend and provide perspective at the two Advisory Committee meetings.
