Help us keep our babies happy, clean and dry by running a diaper drive to collect diapers for the AECDC.

In poor and low-income families, a baby can spend a day or longer in one diaper, leading to potential health risks.

Many low-income parents cannot use childcare if they cannot afford to leave disposable diapers at childcare providers. If parents cannot access daycare, then they are less able to attend work or school. This leads to increased economic instability and a continuation of the cycle of poverty.

YOU CAN HELP BY FOLLOWING 4 EASY STEPS!

Step One:

Approach the head of the organization for approval and decide on:

  • Dates the drive will take place
  • Whether collection bins are needed at the site
  • Where the diapers will be collected
  • Where they will be stored during the drive
  • Where and when they will be picked up or delivered from the organization
  • Contact person for the drive (this may be you)

Step Two:

Distribute flyers to members of the organization one month before the drive and a reminder flyer or email one week before.

Remember that open packages of diapers are fine to donate!

If possible, advertise the drive in the organization's bulletin one month before and the month of the drive.

Step Three:

Hang the flyers around the organization and put a sign at the collection box(es).

Step Four:

Follow-Up with the organization’s contact, and arrange to pick up the diapers.

Hang the flyers around the building and put a sign at the collection site.
